Fitness has been a new passion of mine. I was feeling down on myself and I needed to add something new to my life. I had gone to the gym a few times before, but it never stuck. I decided why not try again, maybe I can meet some new people and see how things work out. When I first signed up, I decided to do the personal training trial. I figured why not, at least I can have someone who knows what they are doing show me how to do the exercises properly and then be on my way. Well little did I know what I was getting myself into.
This girl with bright pink hair and tie-dye headband came up to me and introduced herself. She was going to be my trainer for the new few weeks. I was intimated but super excited. When we started our trial she was straightforward and got right down to it. I had never worked out so hard in my life. After the 6 sessions were done I was hooked. I couldn’t see myself working out without her. She just had a way about her that made you feel like you could do anything.
I ended up signing up for 6 months. Yes it was a bit costly, but I needed to work on myself and it was the best decision I have ever made. Let me get one thing clear, this had nothing to do with my weight. Yeah I wouldn’t mind losing a few pounds, but the way I felt after each session was the best feeling in the world. This was the best thing for my mental health. Sawyer made me feel confident about myself. I actually started to love myself just the way I was.
After my 6 months were done I didn’t know if I would be able to keep going with the same momentum. I ended up signing up for her boot camp classes that she taught at the gym 2 nights a week. After the New Year though, I kind of fell off the rail. I didn’t sign up right away for boot camp, and I had slowed down and even stopped going to the gym. April hit and I needed to get back on track. I signed up again and I felt 100% better right away. It was difficult though because of my work schedule. I was only going to the class 1 day a week, and not really doing my own thing any other days.
August came and Sawyer made the decision to open her own place. I was so proud of her. One of the first things she said to me was how much she had wanted to open her own place. I was excited too because I could finally get back to working out more and having her to push me again.
October 13 The Shred Shop opened. It has been amazing. I have been trying to go 5 days a week and really get myself back into a routine. Honesty time, I have gained most of my weight back and was feeling really down about myself. But Sawyer has already brightened my spirits and brought my confidence back tenfold.
If there is one thing I recommend it is signing up at The Shred Shop. She offers 4 different types of boot camps 6 times a day. Plus, you can go as many times you want as many days as you want. You can find all the information you need on her site Shredshop.ca.
